‘YES I CAN!’ A Better Approach For A New Normal

While 2020 has created much ruckus in the entire world, it has also been a great teacher. The one that has practically proved that life is not so good to treat you only the best on a platter. Sitting there and expecting good things to happen on their own does not work. Good things will happen for you if you take the right steps yourself. You need to be mentally, physically and financially fit in order to live a good life of your choice. It only depends on how you choose to live. In these pandemic times, staying indoors has given most people an excuse to justify the extra kilos on their bodies now, but there’s no one else to blame for that, not even the pandemic itself. 

Today, I want to tell you how much difference your approach can bring in your life. While I forcefully stayed home too, I approached it in a different way. I thought of doing trying out something that I have been wanting for long but could never achieve. I thought of changing my lifestyle and going for a heathier me.

The most important question, ‘How did I do it’?

Well, the start was the same. Just expecting that some magical powers will appear overnight and next morning the mirror will speak a different language. For those thinking that they eat a lot, do NOT worry! I wasn’t any lesser, trust me. This wasn’t the first time I decided to go for it. I had multiple tries, even hit the gym many times, but couldn’t really control eating. So, what changed this time?

Somewhere in May I happened to speak to my good friend, Vaibhav Saigal, who is a poker player and also an expert in nutritional science and wellness. He shared a form with me to do a lifestyle analysis and as most of you would do, I just kept it lying there. We spoke again after a month and he pressed hard on the fact that the process will not give me a hard time at all. I said to myself that this is enough, let me approach it positively this one time. I filled up the form and had a call with him the next Sunday. He beautifully explained the whole logic and just what’s exactly required as per my goal. When I saw the diet routine, I figured that it’s not about quitting food rather choosing the right stuff at the right time of the day. Just three months down the lane, with strict routine following and a daily 20 minute exercise (nothing more), I lost around 12 Kgs!

It’s a whole new world today. Being in a good shape adds so much positivity to your day. You wake up fresh, you are energetic through the day and it all reflects in your work as well. 

I am thankful to Vaibhav for making this happen for me and doing a fabulous work with helping shape so many other people’s wellness, my friend and my CEO Navkiran Singh for always endorsing a healthy living, and my family for supporting this routine and not forcing morning Parathas on me! 

I am very happy to know the progress of my dear friend & poker veteran Jasven Saigal, who is also following a routine under Vaibhav. Watching him perform so well in online tournaments recently, which can be grueling at times, is another testament of how things can be different for you vs a healthier you

It’s all about your approach. There could be many ways to do a particular thing, but the right way to do it is to first understand the best route for you that will lead you to your desired goal. 

But before any of this, the first thing that will always come your way is a question, ‘Can I do it?’. To that, just say ‘YES I CAN’!
